Targeted Reviews

On direction from the Minister for Regulatory Reform, the Better Regulation Office conducts targeted reviews into specific regulatory areas or industries where reducing red tape will benefit the States economy.

Three targeted reviews are currently underway:

• Review of NSW electricity network contestable services
• Promoting economic growth and competition through the planning system
• Review of the Entertainment Industry Act

Completed targeted reviews include:

• Reforming arrangements for regulating gasfitting, gas installations and appliances
• Review of the Plumbing and Drainage Framework
• Licensing of Selected Occupations
• Shop Trading Hours
