The Better Regulation Office has developed three guidance tools to supplement the Guide to Better Regulation. These tools assist agencies to meet the better regulation requirements.

Measuring the Costs of Regulation. Agencies are required to assess the impacts of a regulatory proposal. This tool provides more detailed information on how to measure costs.

Assessment Against the Competition Test. Agencies are required to consider the impacts of a regulatory proposal on competition. This tool provides more detailed information on when and how to conduct a competition test.

Risk-Based Compliance. Agencies are required to plan for implementation of a regulatory proposal using a risk-based approach to compliance. This tool provides detailed guidance on how to develop a risk-based approach.
