The Better Regulation Office
The Better Regulation Office is responsible for meeting the NSW Government’s commitment to cut red tape and reduce the regulatory burden on business. It is located within the Department of Premier and Cabinet and supports the Minister for Regulatory Reform.
The NSW Government released the State Plan, A New Direction for NSW in November 2006. Establishing the Better Regulation Office was a specific target under State Plan Priority P3 - Cutting red tape, along with a commitment to conduct and implement three industry specific red tape reviews per annum over the next five years.
